The Adlington Folk Dance Club has existed for over 50 years, to enjoy and promote English country dances, both as a participation activity and an art form by giving costume performances.

In 1993 The Adlington Folk Dancers were formed as a separate section specializing in costume performances.

The dancers perform English traditional country dances from 1651 to date in a variety of period costumes and have performed in folk dance festivals at home and abroad, including:
